FUJIFILM INSTAX Undisputed Masters is coming to Japan!

London, February 28th, 2023

For the first time the FUJIFILM INSTAX Undisputed Masters one of the world’s most respected breaking competitions is coming to Japan.

On Tuesday March 21st over 150 breakers, including current WDSF World Champion Phil Wizard (Can), WDSF European Champion Dany Dann (Fra), 2021 WDSF World Champion and 2023 National Japan Champion Ayumi Fukushima (Jpn) and two times BOTY World Champions Jinjo Crew (Kor) will battle it out at the NEW PIER HALL in Minato City, Tokyo.

Undisputed Masters is a global breaking competition series that was established in 2014 by a joint initiative of some of the world’s leading breaking events, judges and competitors. Tokyo is the showstopper of the Undisputed Masters 2022 world tour, with prior editions held in London, Amsterdam and Los Angeles.

It’s no surprise that this legendary breaking competition is coming to Japan. The Japanese breaking scene has earned inspiring international attention since the mid 2000’s as the level of the dancers is extremely high. The Japanese breaking scene uplifts the entire breaking community in their preparation for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

International Olympic contenders and the best Japanese breakers will display their raw talent and mind-blowing moves to impress a world-class judging panel operating with the Trivium judging system. The Trivium judging system was developed through Undisputed events since 2014 and will be used at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Next to the Olympic solo men and solo women categories the Undisputed features an all ages and mixed crew category to emphasize the values of inclusivity, equality, diversity and having fun that are deeply rooted in the culture of breaking.

For its global tour Undisputed Masters partnered with FUJIFILM INSTAX. The Tokyo based company recognizes the passion and activity within breaking that is generally reflective of the INSTAX brand values. “Breaking’s pillars are culture, community, and competition. The community embraces new ways of combining online and offline which is an intersection where our brand thrives.

INSTAX has been globally embraced as a communication tool and a tool of self-expression for its ability to capture those precious moments in life in the form of photo prints and convey emotions that go with them. For this collaboration, INSTAX would like to be, a media to support breaking to be known more and would like to show the values that breaking and INSTAX share to enhance the image of each,” said Masato Yamamoto, Senior Vice President, FUJIFILM Corporation.
